Subject: RE: triathlon bike shoe and pedals?I have almost 10k mi on my Keo Classics & they've been great. My fav pedal for those long century rides. If you're having probs with entry/exit- clean/lube 'em and check to make sure your cleats aren't worn. That said- I tend to prefer Shimano pedals/cleats better for tri because the little grippers allow for better traction while running. (My only 2 tris so far have had horrible transition areas to run on in bare feet-sharp stones, sticks, even some metal and glass debris ) I'm not a Speedplay fan since the mechanism is on the cleat. Two of my club buddies have had those cleats break/malfunction while on long rides, which is a PITA. The pedals are light, but add the weight of the cleat & they're in the range of other systems. |
