Where does one buy casual apparel?  Now that I'm officially a triathlete, I want to brag and show off my new bod.  What websites does everyone visit for "fun" clothes?

I'm a huge fan of the Art of Tri line. Really well made and it's tri-centric without being too flashy.
I think it's only available via their site.

Seriously? This caught me off-guard. I think most people buy their casual clothes at a huge assortment of stores - there's not a "triathlete-centric" store for casual clothes out there - maybe for t-shirts/hats, but not the whole range of casual clothes. I guess the closest would be stores like REI - which carry a large assortment of high-quality active-lifestyle/gear clothing. But, then again, I see alot of triathletes dressed differently when away from the course. As for showing off your body - you can do that in clothes from almost any store in the mall

I realized last night while in the shower that I wasn't specific enough.  I want a really cool tshirt that says something witty about being a triathlete.  Like "if you don't TRI, don't bother."  There's a website CafePress.com that has several nice shirts, I've googled it, just wondered where you seasoned folks get your cool tshirts.  The shirt I got at my first tri is way less than cool.

Whatever the clotihng ensemble du jour is for you, make certain to include compression socks or calf sleeves.  This is the clothing accessory that identifies you immediately to everyone as a serious triathlete, or (in my case) triathlete in training.  When people inevitably ask why the eff you are wearing support hose, you can correct their naïveté and then segue into your desired bragging.  Works like a champ.

I also occasionally wear my finisher medals as a fashion accessory - that always gets people's attention and commands respect.

But, in all seriousness, I'm another vote for REI for casual clothes that accentuate the active lifestyle.

Cheers, Chris
