Subject: Cycling questionI have a HIM on September 27th (Augusta ). For the next two weeks, I'll be on vacation in a place where riding a bike will just not be feasible. We're going to have a family reunion to celebrate my Great Grandmother's 100th birthday! Anyways, it's kind of remote, there is not really any place to rent a bike, and the roads are full of potholes anyways. There are no gyms, so stationary bikes are out of the question. My plan was to up my running volume for the next two weeks to compensate for the lack of riding...I'll also be able to swim some (plan on spending alot of time at the beach ), but running will be my focus. Are there any things I can do to compensate for my lack of cycling? Will the increase in running make up for that drastic decrease in cycling? I know the rules about increasing volume, but I think I can handle a jump of between 25-40% in volume easily if I'm not cycling. it'll be mostly at a Z2 effort. Thanks for any useful tips or suggestions! |
