Dumb thought I had for the day

when you start pedaling outside the transition some the rubber bands will break and fall on the ground.

If I remember the rules right you must bring back everything back you left the transition zone with so shouldn't this be a penalty for leaving equipment out on the course?

Majority of mine end up staying on the shoes. I use the thinnest bands possible that just hold enough to keep shoes up. When they break, the remaining piece has never bothered my ride and only way I even know they are still there is taking the rubber band out after the race when cleaning shoes etc. Technically you may be right if a piece breaks loose. However if an official has eyes that good, they should be Major league Umpire instead.
