Subject: Holding your breath
Does anyone else automatically hold your breath when jogging or biking past roadkill?  I've noticed that I automatically do this no matter what it is on the side of the road.  I thought it was sort of wierd but it gives me something to think of to keep my mind busy.  I keep thinking that if I breath, I'll inhale some sort of nasty bacteria or something.

i always hold my breath for the same reason. i doubt anything will actually happen. im more afraid of the animal resurrecting just as i ride by and it attacking me. i ride by a lot of dead deer and squirrels and i know one of these days they'll get me

Yeah, i cant explain why i do this very thing- the stench, fear of bacteria, fear of roadkill stealing my soul and taking over my body or vice versa, but have been doing this for some time.  Kinda funny.

If I had to hold my breath every time I'd pass-out.  My road has a fresh road kill a day.  Usually possum or coon.  With-in a mile you can see a daily scale of fresh roadkill to old bones!!!

They get real nasty looking around day 4.

I'm not afraid of bacteria.  I'm scared of ralphing because of the stench.
