Subject: wheels??

I am thinking of taking a leap and buying some new wheels.  I ride an "07 Cannondale Six13, partial carbon right now.  I would spend around $1200, I have heard good things about the Spinergy's.  Can you guys shed some light on this subject and if wheels are worth the money??

Thanks!

What kind of biking do you normally do? Time trial type (straight/fast)? Roadie type (bumpy, turns, etc)?

For $1200 you have opened the door to just about all types of go fast wheels, if only used.

Zipp, HED, Williams, Gray, Easton, Mavic...

I am mostly a roadie.  I do some tri's and put on aero bars when I do longer distances, but I like to road ride more than anything and have gotten into doing some longer distance races.  Some hills, flats, typical Wisconsin roads.  Thanks.

i bought a brand new set for flashpoint 60mm front / 80 mm rear fo $1300.

1200 won't get you a new pair of zipps but you can probably look at HED, or some used zipps.

Are you looking at aero wheels or at good roadie wheels?

I picked up a brand new set of SRAM s60's for under $1000 and they are fantastic wheels, same wheels as flashpoints/zipps (hubs arent as good as zipps) and good value. Am getting a set of S80's for my tt bike (60's are on the roadie, lightweight enough that climbing is a breeze but super fast on the flats)

Ahhh. You might need to catch another board to ask that one. The ones suggested are all aero and probably will continue to be aero based.

I have a connection for HED wheels. Just tell me what you are interested in (if any), nad I can hook you up with the supplier. I have gotten wheels for a few friends as well as several folks on this site (ask Sprint_DA; he'll vouch). Altough this isnt typically the forum to buy items, I have a pair of HED Jet60 C2's with cermic bearings that i need to unload.

I have a pair of Jet60 C2's that I train and do tris in.  I really like them.  I don't have the ceramic bearings and I paid $850 for them used one season without a mark on them.  Not sure how good a "deal" this was, but I have them now, so I guess it doesn't matter much!
