Hey, I am very excited. I have decided to take the plunge and do my very first triathlon on June 13. I am just starting real training for it, I have not worked out regularly for about 3 years, but I am still in pretty good shape and think that I will do okay. My only problem is that I don't know anyone who has ever done one and thus I don' t know the little extras that friends usually tell you. If anyone has any advice, I'd be obliged. Thanks

Start by going to the home page of this site at http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/and read some or all of the articles for beginners as well as the banner articles up at the top of the page in gray on swim, bike, run, T1/T2 etc. You will get a lot of information from that source. Then, if you have any further questions, come on back to the forum and ask away. No question is too trivial, so don't be shy. Also, welcome aboard.

Remember this excitement you have in the beginning!  When you feel like sleeping in or skipping a workout remember this excitement and let it inspire you.

Just my two cents!
