"Past Racers please note that the swim has been shortened to .5 miles from .75 miles and the bike has been changed to 12 miles from 15 miles to avoid a certain part of the old course. Please review the new course maps, so that there is no confusion on race day."

And they still want about $100!!

I was a big fan of this race, it's literally 3.5 miles from my house and I thought it was important to support them and a race NOT all the way out in Montauk.  I also thought the competition among more race organizers was a good thing.  Unfortunately, I think I'm gonna have to cross this one off now,  I just can't see dropping $100 on a mini sprint

yeah $100 for a  sprint is seems a bit much. I liked this race last year, it was pretty challenging. There was def alot of chop in that swim last year- I loved the chop but I remember there being alot of buoys and  not finding the last buoy so I landed up swimming more than I had to.  so if your not a good swimmer I can see how you could be uncomfortable with it. I wonder what the "certain part" of the bike they are taking out? I know there was one point that there was a very fast downhill that I saw a biker crash.

Maybe I'm becoming a Long Course snob, but $105.00 for a .5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, and a 5k run (2 loops on a sidewalk) seems ridiculous.  But then again, I just realized, I paid the same fee for Ironclad and those are the distances for Ironclad...

But still, it just seems like a lot of money for a total of 15.6 miles of racing; especially when the average HIM (70.3 miles of racing) cost around  $225.00.

What would've made sense to me is increasing the swim to 1 mile to compensate for the loss of miles on the bike.  Oh well, another race I porbably will not be doing now

I will be doing this race as i have heard it is an excellent race to finish up with. I don't have a problem with the distances But i am just a Beginner only doing sprints right now.  !00.00 is expensive but i have spent 100 bucks on worse. To up it to a mile swim would be great for you since you can swim the mile, but it is a sprint, maybe alot of beginners do this race so they do not want to scare them away with a 1 mile swim. Just my .02 !!!

Why do you have to go and make a good point.  I want to whine, moan and complain
