Signed up for a 1/2 marathon a while back, but then we went on vacation to Austria and France with the bikes and since riding was SOOOO nice, I completely skipped running.... did a 13.1miles yesterday and surprised myself in doing a 1.44:06 (which equates to just about 8min/mile). Very excited and definately feel ready for the race. Have 5 weeks left to boot, so things are looking quite ok.

Good to hear ! Keep it up! I am hoping maybe some of my biking will transfer to the run.

if you can run a training run at that pace, i'd say shoot for 1:30 or under for the race.

Would love to do a 1.30 1/2 mary, but look at the pace... 1.44 equates to a 7.56 pace; 1.30 equates to a 6.52, not realistic... I might go under 1.40, but that will be a struggle. PB is 1.35, so I'm well off that.

Still... I'm quite excited about this training run since I've only been ITB problem free for a couple of months. Haven't really run at all during the spring. Biking is great for building endurance obviously. Another interesting side-effect is that my biking is faster than ever, yet I can still put out some nice runs. Just did a 10k training run in 41.26

Feels like I'm getting back to my Duathlon shape again.
