We're leaving from Frederick at 8:30. Going to try to average about 17 MPH so a little longer than 2 hours plus travel time (40 mins each way from Frderick). Warm up @ 15 MPH from Mile 0 to Hancock (Mile 10) then 25 mile time trial just like Nations. Interested in this groovy ride? then PM me before 8 AM Saturday. - Scott

It was a good ride. Weather still had not boiled over like today. We saw a big ole' snake on the wood bridge across the creek.... wonder what happens if you roll over one. Miles 1-10.5 @ 16 MPH warmup to Hancock, then 10.5 to 18 and back to mile 10.5 Hancock at tempo ~ 19 MPH, quick stop at Hancock to group back up then raced back to the parking lot. Will give more than 12 hours heads up for the next ride.

I ran 20 on the WMRT yesterday, it was a well maintained, shaded, flat, trail.  Not bad at all!

yes, I'm certainly glad I didn't know about the snakes when I ran WMRT on Sunday!  Although maybe if I'd seen one, my pace would have been faster!

Last year I saw a bear on the trail, behind the chain link fence just west of Hancock. No kidding. And we've seen deer lots of times. But snakes and bears and deer aside, it's a fantastic place to ride, and is very safe, especially during the popular summer weekends. Someone came along and shoo'd the snake off the bridge pretty quickly. (you should see what's underneath you in the water on your OWS!!!)
