Subject: RE: Run for the Redmaria40nc - 2009-08-24 10:08 AM Oh, great. Now ya'll planted the seed and it is poking at me.
Now I'm sitting here wondering If I can get from 5 miles to half marathon ready by November 8.
And I have two Triathlons to deal with in this timeframe.
Longest I've ever run was 5.8 miles.
Hmmm... A couple friends told me about their first 13.1. They had been running 6-8 miles in training and had completed a few 10Ks when they saw a flyer for the 13.1 ,which was a month or so away. They were able to squeeze in one 10 miler before the race and everything went pretty well until about 9 miles when they started to struggle. At about 10 miles the conversation went something like this: S: "What does runner's high feel like?" Y: "I don't know. Why?" S: "I think I'm having it." Y: "What's it like?" S: "I can't feel my legs..." They both staggered to the finish and for the next few days they blamed each other for signing up in the first place. When the soreness went away they imagined it was pretty fun. So, yeah, you should TOTALLY sign up and let us know how it goes. Edited by marq 2009-08-25 11:22 PM
