Veteran  245   In T1 looking for my Schwinn Huffy |  Subject: Speedsuits that broke all the world recordsLooks like the manufacturers are dumping these since they were recently banned for swimming competitions (85% off!)...not sure how appropriate these are for triathlons but thought I'd pass along the link....are you allowed to use speedsuits under conditions were water is not wetsuit legal?? |

Elite 4048 Gilbert, Az. | Subject: RE: Speedsuits that broke all the world records I don't know about the legality, but they are NOT durable. IIRC, Phelps went through something like a suit every 3 races at the Olympics. Even at $30 a pop, that's still expensive. John |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Speedsuits that broke all the world records People rip them just putting them on ....... unless you are buying them for competitive swimming (and they allow them - which they won't if they follow FINA rules) they are a total waste. I'd never think about using them in a tri. They'd get shredded as soon as you bumped into someone in an OWS. |

Expert 2547 The Woodlands, TX | Subject: RE: Speedsuits that broke all the world records They are dumping them b/c on January 1st, men can't wear anything above the naval and below the knee. Women - no zippers, not past shoulder or past knee. Also, must be a textile (i.e. no rubber or panels). New FINA rules. Crazy time in swimming. |
