If you would like to do the Gold Medal Challenge, which is both the half-marathon and marathon, you just need to enter once. There is an event called Gold Medal Challenge. Otherwise, just select the event for which you are registering.
If you would like to participate in the Marathon Relay, each participant must enter on their own. You will be asked to select your team name and captain; that is how we will be able to identify your correct team. So make sure you have a team name and captain prior to registering. Teams can consist of 2 to 4 runners.
There will be two half marathons so you will be asked to give your estimated finish time during the registration process. Sometime in the months before the event, we will use your times to decide which race you will be placed in - the 7 a.m. race or the 9:30 a.m. race. The faster runners will be placed in the first race. If you have a preference to which race you are in, please email the race director at [email protected] and we will consider your request, although we can't guarantee it. Please be aware that there is only one half marathon listed on the registration page. You cannot specify which one you would like to run during the registration process. You will be notified of which race you are assigned to at least one month prior to race day.
The field limits are as follows: marathon 120 runners, half marathon 240 runners (both races combined), marathon relay 100 teams. A total of 40 slots in the marathon and half marathon will be reserved for Gold Medal Challenge participants. Although we have no way of knowing at this time when or if any of the events will fill up, there has been a lot of interest in the Gold Medal Challenge and we do anticipate that this will fill up first.
The tentative schedule of events is as follows:
Saturday, January 23
Half Marathon 1 - 7:00 a.m. (2-hour time limit) Half Marathon 2 - 9:30 a.m. (3-hour time limit) Marathon Relay - 1 p.m. (4-hour time limit)
Sunday, January 24
Marathon - 8 a.m. (6 hour time limit)
For questions, please email the race director, Chris Ponteri, at [email protected] or call him at 262-215-1166.
c'mon blondie..............flat easy course..............tons of volunteers at least every 300 meters..........good steady weather conditions.........what more could you ask for?!?!?!?
Since a fall marathon didn't fit in my schedule, I am seriously considering this. So far, they have 40 for the marathon. I love running at the Pettit. However, I will NOT be doing the gold Medal Challenge.

I can't see myself doing this, indoors, for umpteen billions laps, going "Hey, kids, there's DJ, again".
I think I'd be interested in the relay (I should check with me first and find out but I'm pretty sure I'm interested) .... anyone signing up for the gold medal challenge should book their bed at the asylum right now. Davey.

I'm sure I'll figure out a way to get lost somehow..... I'll probably end up on the rink, carried along by speed skaters (oh hey, that would be way fun!)
I checked with my left hip and she said NO FREAKIN WAY!!!!!
That begs the question: since they expect the Gold Medal Challenge to fill up fast, would they consider the Saturday races going clock-wise and the Sunday race going counter clock-wise? Seems like that would be a good idea to lessen the "left side" issue.

First if I did the gold medal challenge which I will not ...I would want to do the marathon the first day and the half the second day... Who wants to run 13 miles in circles only to know that they have to run 26 the next day?
I am going to sign up for the 7a.m. half - if anyone wants to do the relay let me know - I want to do that too.
