Incredible Deal

One of our local tri/bike shops got bought out and are now just a bike shop.  Today they decided to get rid of all the running shoes, tri clothes etc.. that they had.

All shoes over $100 were $40.  All shoes under $100 were $25.  All clothing was 75% off.  They had a Zoot skinsuit ($200) marked down to $35 (didn't fit).  Shoe insoles (Smart feet) normally $35 now $8.

So the wife and I go in and I see a bunch of oot running shoes.  Sweet.  Try as I might I cannot find any in my size.  Dang it...  I find a couple of pairs of Brooks that i can use as just "walking shoes".  Hey for $25 that's a steal for Brooks.  The wife does the same plus a tri top and pair of shorts.  We end up walking out with 4 pairs of shoes, 2 sets of insoles, a top and shorts for about what we would have paid for shoes full price.

Now the sad part.  While we are trying on stuff an older (60ish) couple comes in.  Clearly not athletes.  They start trying on shoes and she tries on the Zoots.  She's confused why they look the way they do and I explain a bit about them to her.  She proclaims they are "cute" and buys 4 pair (at $40 a pop)  She buys them large so she can wear her support socks under them she tells me.

Somewhere there are size men's 9 triathletes crying...
