Subject: Bought a HRM...now have more questions So, the other day, I bought a polar S-120 from trisports. I'll have to admit, a fun little toy but not sure how to use it to it's potential yet.
The last couple of days, I've been trying to figure out my MHR and how to use it based on the write ups in the articles section.
My questions are:
1 ) Just say you are training at 50% of your MHR and just say mentally, you are like, "I just can't sustain the 50%." Are you suppose to just keep trying to train at that % because physically you can sustain it, because it's only 50% of your MHR?
2 ) I guess sort of related to #1 above, is there a general chart which shows how long you are suppose to train at a specific percentage?
For example, if I train at 50% my MHR, am I suppose to maintain it for 20 miles? If I train at 75%, am I suppose to maintain it for 10 miles?
2 ) What percentage of your MHR are you suppose to race at?
