Pre-race routine:

woke up 3 hours till race time. Ate- oatmeal and 1 cup of coffee. Sports drink sipping the rest of the way.
Event warmup:

After setting up. Quick 5 minute jog on the run coarse, then sat by the pool to get streached out real well.

Great ride. Rode my pace held 14+ on the long inclines. 10+ on the one big hill.

Felt ok and thought I had gone slower than I had anticipated. After seeing the split I was amazed that I was actually faster then I anticipated. Calfs locked up first 1/4 mile as usual. I am paying for that days later with sore calf muscles in both legs again.
What would you do differently?:

Need to push more. I can go faster yet.

Warm down:

quick walk, should have done more than just standing around and talking. 1 half bottle of water, 1 power bar, 1 banana, and 1 bagle.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

need to get in the pool and work on the swim.

Event comments:

Good warm up for the longer races ahead. And its hard to feel bad about an AG win.
