Comments: Stayed with the lead pack for the first 200 meters then started to drop back What would you do differently?: I need to get back to doing speed work in the pool. Due to my injury I have only been doing slow base yards. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was on grass and there was a small hill that you had to run down to get to the road. Kind of treacherous in bike shoes What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I drank too much on the bike at first and got a horrible side stitch about 8 miles into the ride. Overall I was happy to break 40 minutes on the bike What would you do differently?: Not drink as much Transition 2
Comments: The downhill out of T1 was an uphill out of T2. I had the advantage as my rack was on the end closest to the bike exit/entry Run
Comments: The side stitch finally went away after the first 1 1/2 miles of the run were done. After that I was able to run my normal pace (sub 7). Overall I was a little disappointed with this split as I am normally around 20 min for a 5k What would you do differently?: drink less on the bike Post race
Warm down: walked around and talked to friends and drank water What limited your ability to perform faster: I have done virtually no speed work in any of the events. The plan is to get my speed up for the Olympic at West Point or Richard Russell. Event comments: The Tri the Parks series is a great race series for those just getting into the sport. I recommed it to all of my beginning athletes. Last updated: 2005-06-26 12:00 AM
