Subject: RE: Pat Griskus Triathlon Series - Olympic Distance : Official ThreadAre you talking the Pat Griskus sprint or Oly? I think someone has uploaded all of those bike routes onto BT...click on the "Routes" link at the top of the page and it'll take to the routes people have put up already. If you search for Pat Griskus, you'll see one of the runs and both the sprint and Oly bike. If you search for Harriman, you'll see the sprint bike and run. Once you select a route, it might be helpful to compare the elevation graphs to get an idea for how the climb is spread out. As far as comparing both sprints, it looks like the Harriman bike is a 15 mile slow incline, fast downhill, awful climb, and then cruise to the end. It's an overall elevation gain of 1,398 feet. The Griskus sprint bike is a 10.5 mile downhill for the first few miles, and then you spend basically the rest of the route climbing. The overall elevation gain is only 627 feet. On the other hand, the Griskus Oly is 24 miles with three major periods of climbing that last anywhere from two to four miles each, and then flat to the end with a gain of 1,732 feet. |
