Subject: RE: Boulder 70.3 Agree - the bike course is a little bit rolling, but lots of fast, slightly downhills too. It does not have any what I would consider 'serious' climbs.
The run is very exposed with little shade, so it can get HOT. But the nice thing is that it's largely on dirt roads, so less impact.
The other factor to include is the altitude. Boulder is at 5430 feet above sea level, so prepare to feel a bit out of breath if you aren't used to the elevation. I've heard a lot of people say they feel it most in the swim.
I've done it 4 times and overall, I think it's a great race. IMHO, it's probably one of the easier 70.3 courses (minus the altitude factor).
And there's tons to do around Boulder/Denver, esp if you like the outdoors - hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing. HTH!
