Well, I was thinking we could update this thread weekly with how things are going. I plan on taking before and after pictures. We could post those. I know other challenges have google spreadsheets. I could put one together for each week with the daily workouts. We could each put a check next to them if we complete them.

This would be my first challenge. I thought it would be good motivation for those of us doing it. I don't plan on doing the cardio workouts. I will substitute swimming for those. I will also run and bike in the evenings.

Any thoughts??

I might do a modified version as well.  I haven't read all the threads on this site but have reviewed the program.  My understanding is that if you are doing the tri sports - and I will likely be riding/running - then you can substitute those for the Kenpo, Cardo and Plyometrics - am I right?

I've also looked at the diet and it scares me - soooo many calories!  Are you planning to follow the plan to the tee?

The other decision is which one to do - Classic or Lean?  I'm leaning towards lean...

My last tri is the 28th and I'm away the following week so I'd be starting it anytime after Sept. 6th

I would be interested. I like the idea of substituting swimming for the cardio workouts. I have a half marathon on September 25th and then am done for 2010.

This will be my third round, I have done the Classic and the Lean both and have found the diet to be the biggest challenge, getting the correct ratios. Consistency and diet are keys to the program. You could also do a challenge on your 1st day and 90 day tests, or % strength increase, I would be open to a total weight loss during program challenge.

I would really like to get lean = fat loss = weight loss. I have not gotten the materials yet. My last tri is on the 28th. I have a busy craftshow line up for the month of Sept. So I will have to modify the program a bit to work with my schedule the first month. The diet sounds a bit scary. I don't eat wheat or refined sugars. I hope I can get my ratios right. I live on Larabars, tuna and lots of lean protein and veggies. I think I might eat too many carbs. It would be awesome to do the program with a group. It looks like we have a bit of an expert to guide us (Nevergiven). I have no clue what I am getting myself into, but it looks tough. I like that. I need a change of pace.Sorry for the big paragraph. BT is not letting me make paragraphs???

A colleague of mine did it and only lasted a week.  She said she didn't enjoy working out at home - too isolated - she missed the social aspect of the gym.  She also said the first couple of days were brutal.  It hurt to sneeze for about 5 days afterwards!

Apparently Classic is good if you want to bulk up a bit - Lean is good if you want to tone.  I think I'll probably go lean.  Looking to lower my %BF.  I have a link she gave to me that helps simplify the diet and portions.  I'll post it tomorrow.

Looks like a mid Sept start date might work well for everyone so far!

The diet is important in that you switch gears(adding and reducing carbs)during the program, it doesnt have to be perfect as long as you are consistant. BT logging helps me so I can see what Im getting for cals and ratios.

The Lean and Classic are very similiar workouts, you are swapping out a day of Core synergistics for lifting, its the diet that makes the difference.

The workouts are different for everyone, I have difficulty with Abripperx, one handed pushups, wall squats, corncob pullups' and some others. Having the ability to pause will allow you to ease into the program, I still recommend doing the whole workout because its important for overall improvement. Some nights you may have to skip a workout, just keep going.

Motivation and accountability will be the groups purpose, the more everyone gets involved the better!

Kim Marcia, if you would post that link it would be awesome.

Fixed it Ya me too re: sore!  It's been a while since I've done it.

Here's the link - if you scroll down there's a clink to an excel spreadsheet that helps you figure out your caloric intake and how to split it all up.  Once I figured it out - the foods I am eating aren't all that different - it's just the quantities.  WAY more protein for me initially.  But then yes - apparently that shifts as you progress.

I am awaiting my DVDs. I was thinking initially of starting Sept 1. If some want to come in later that would be fine.

Thoughts on a start date??

Ok, Sept 1 we start or some of us start. Provided the Ebay seller comes through for me. I think we can be open to people joining the group as they can or want to.

I'll be away and the earliest I could start might be around the 8th - depending on whether I get a chance to buy the bands etc.  No worries though!  Not such a significant difference that we won't be able to motivate one another.

9/1 it is!  I'm not sure I have the guts to post progress pictures though.  Do we want to post our starting measurements so we can monitor progress?  I'll confess, I am not a fan of YogaX.

I think we should post a little bit about ourselves so we can at least get to know one another and our statistics. We can do measurements, weight, etc. I am going to look at body fat also. This week I will start the get to know you aspect of this group.

I think I'm game for this. I got through 2 months of the program earlier in the year and have been integrating Yoga, Stretch and Ab Ripper while building up an endurance base.

I'm going to attempt to do this in addition to my current training load - we'll see how it goes. I'll be doing a modified program:

- Start on Sept 14 so that rest weeks are aligned.
- No Kenpo X
- Will follow my own macro-nutrient ratios and nutrition plan (i.e. will still be mostly a carb based diet due to endurance training)

May make amendments to the program as needed (i.e. remove Plyo if legs can't handle it).
My main goal during this time will be to eat cleaner food - I already watch every calorie that goes into my mouth, but can always make improvements on the quality of food going in. So fewer processed foods for me during this time.

I also will aspire to blog throughout the entire 90 day process and post meal pictures / recipes to help keep myself accountable.

Should be interesting.
