Swim
Comments: This was the hardest swim I have ever had to do. The waves were 2' to 4' coming straight at the beach. There were times when I felt like I was making no progress at all! After getting through this swim there isn't too much in the water that should bother me in the futer. I wouldn't want to do the IM distance in those conditions though. Transition 1
Comments: I think I took this one slow to recover a little from the swim. Bike
Transition 2
Comments: My actual time in transition was short, but it was a long run from the street to the TA. Run
Comments: This was a training race, and my pace was right on for what I plan to do at the 1/2 and Full IM distance, but after seeing my overall run time I should have pushed harder. I actually looked at my watch a couple times and was counting stride rate and stuff like that during the race. I felt light on my feet and a strong cadence. I finished the race feeling strong and like I could have run another 10k. What would you do differently?: I executed this run as planned. Post race
Warm down: Iced sponges, a couple bottles of water, and a 15 minute massage. What limited your ability to perform faster: The strong waves on the swim. The stupid mechanical mistake on the bike. Using the run as pace training for other upcoming races. Event comments: This race is ranked as one of the top 10 most scenic races in the world. The change to the bike course this year made the bike a little less scenic, but the swim and the run were awesome! I would definitely go back for this race again! The Tri-Bob awards banquet was also very well put together, great food, great entertainment, and fun for all that attended! Last updated: 2010-07-09 12:00 AM

A 2:10PM start time throws off your routine a little...
Big breakfast early, followed by an easy morning of staying out of the sun. A couple pieces of left over pizza at noon followed by a bar at 1 and a gel just befor race start.
About 300 - 400 meters in the ocean.
The Hoi An Swiss Belle Hotel is the race venue. The hotel is awsome with great amentities, many restaurants, and a beautiful beach!
