oh yeah! totally forgot to add that one, i had the link to the voting page but not the other way around.

Oooh, great topic.  I hope the sun comes out this week LOL.  Oh wait, we do have electricity in our house and some lights.  Hmmmm.

Yeah just looked at our forecast and it is rain till Friday dang. There goes the outside shots. Will make it more interesting I think.

Thanks. He is a cutie but sometimes the devil horns come out and he is not so cute.

Took this one today on my ride. Was using the phone camera so quality is poor.

 

Peby -I think your picture is awesome but I have to tell you what my 4-yr old said when he saw it. "that's Daddy riding his bike but it isn't a very good picture because it is black!" I burst out laughing and he was rather put out. He inherited the lack of artistic talent gene from his parents evidently!!!

So... We only get one submission, correct?

So far I've taken 192 shots this week with the sole purpose of using one for this thread. I've got one artistic photo I like and several good shots of the kid making use of the excellent evening light we've been having. But I think I'll wait a couple more days and see what else I come up with.

I was going to shoot again saturday, but i'm not sure that is going to happen so going to go with this one from today, was out back reading and this looked like a good one for this weeks topic.

Newbz, I've got a question for you,

Did you do much post processing? I guess I am specifically interested in the lighting, and how it fades towards the edge of the book.

It's a really nice photo btw.

Another question, can we add are personal runner ups to this thread after voting has closed?

A shadow of my daughters thoughts on how they feel about dad. 

I bumped up the black levels a little bit, but most of the shadows on that are from a tree in my back yard (i was actually running around trying to get in a spot with enough light to show through the lens).

the dark shadow on the right is the tree trunk, the left side is from the leaves.

I do a lot of post lighting work on a lot of images though, and is one of my stronger skill sets in PS (looks like this photo are very very easy to do with a few minutes of playing around/understanding the tools).
