Yeah - I know this has been covered before, but I'm very excited about my new road bike. It's a Giant OCR1 with Shimano 105/Ultegra setup. I was riding on a converted MTB and was doing fine, but the difference between the two is night and day. I'm surprised by how comfortable the saddle is - when I last spent time on a bike (15 years ago), the seats weren't as good as they are now. The smoothness of the shifting is amazing. It's very exciting.

night and day isn't enough of a description when you're considering minutes in a race. When I accelerated my bike easily to 35km/h, I was just ecstatic! (and it was a steel bike)

Lalalalala, I don't see that picture.

That is the exact bike that I am saving up for - tempted to buy now with the cheaper components (and in RED!), but I know I will regret it later.

Well, when I went into the bike shop, it was for a computer to put on the MTB. Turns out they were having a sale - buy a bike and get a 10% coupon for anything in the store. Everything in the store was on sale as well so I ended up getting a pair of shoes and a computer for nothing. It was too good a deal to pass up. I figured I'd be getting one at the end of the year. Anyhow - it's pretty cool getting up to 40mph on a bike. That's downhill. I'm not THAT strong yet.

And I firmly believe that color does matter. Just like all the stickers kids are putting on their cars. An 8" APC sticker on the windshield is worth 10hp...
