Comments: **** note: cleaning up old race reports ***** This ride is appropriately named. It was a sufferfest on the last ascent, but I think that's the point. Overall it was a good training day. I got to ride on hills/mountains that are MUCH tougher than CdA and I held my own with other riders. I was happy with my nutrition (5 bottles Infinit and 1 pack shot blocks). I will tweak a few things on the nutrition front on race day, but today gave me valuable information. The most important thing now is making sure my legs and body fully recover from today's ride. Time is estimated and includes approx 10-15 minutes at various Rest Stops/Aid Stations. Light rain for the first couple of hours, but nothing too bad at all. My bike computer stopped working somewhere around mile 30 as it doesn't like the rain. Another thing I learned is I am not a good technical rider. I got passed much more on descents than I did on flats or climbs. It didn't help that I was one of only a few riding a tri bike. If I ever do this ride again, I will ride a road bike with a triple up front. I definitely could have used more gears. Post race
