Subject: Agusani Cycle Store?

Hi folks! I was curious if anyone has had any experience ordering from this online bike shop. It's based in Singapore and I can't seem to find any reviews on them. I'd love to know if they are a reputable company 'cause their bike prices are killer!

I sent them a "feeler" e-mail. If they are legit, I could be sporting one of those beautiful Zipp disc wheels this summer. Seems too good to be true, so am proceeding cautiously.

Well, I got an e-mail back answering my questions in a satisfactory manner. But, I think I need one more piece of assurance before pulling the trigger. What is Paypal's protection against scams? I had an issue with something I bought using VISA and they credited my account right away. Does Paypal do something similar? I need to know as they list a ZIPP 900 clincher disc for $788.

Well, some of the smart biking boys I know came up with some answers.

Check out the 2 links below re: paypal protection. Looks like we'd be covered if it doesn't show up or if we were to receive a "fake" item.

Then we'd also have to worry about Import Duty. For a bike it would be 5.5% import duty. I looked up wheels and it says 5% but with a note you'll have to look up to see what it means.

I wouldn't buy from them.

First "red flag", I guess, is the embedded ads on their website. What kind of store has ads for other retailers (of the same stuff they're selling too) on their website? That's a little unusual.

But even more of a concern is that I checked the websites for three of the brands they carry, Cervelo, Zipp, and Argon, and they are not listed as a dealer for any of the three. I guess it's possible that they are listed under a different name and location, but I didn't see them listed for that area (Singapore/Jakarta).

Personally, I would steer clear.

Google Indonesia Bike Scams. Not looking so hot for our good deals. Apparently it's like Nigerian scams but with bikes. Bummer.

This website was created on May 23, 2010. It is registered to someone in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is really hard to say if this is a scam website, although there is no shortage of internet-based retailers that are scam artists. Personally, although yeah, a set of HED H3's for less than the price of a single H3 front wheel in the states is very tempting, I think caution should rule here.

I did try and they really are sammers !!!

Don't buy anything from them.....

I just lost $1128.00 for a Giant Antem X 29er that i will probably never have !!!

Tell everybody about those scams.

I really don't know now how to get my money back ???

there site look almost the same as Agusani cycle store.

FRAUD-FRAUD-FRAUD

The lesson : i have to pay again for learning !!! ($1128.00 usd) paid with paypal.

Don't trust Paypal in an issue like that one....they don't want to get the money back from the seller !!!

I'll tell everybody if Paypal get my money back ........

Hi everyone,

I did some research after I came across the Agusani website. It appears that the same people have 3 different websites: Agusani, Starscycle.com and Starscycle .net. They all have the same brands and it appears to be a common web template as well. I have been looking for a LOOK 695 frame and after I contacted LOOK in France, none of the stores I mentioned above are listed as t heir dealers.

It is a FRAUD, so do not let yourself be fouled by this people.

I had a few email exchange with them and there are more inconsistencies that anything else. I contacted PayPal and they have no info on those companies.

Just though on adding another layer of caution.
