Started the day with a mtn. bike race. Got some sleep. Checked over the road bike.
Event warmup:

Did some laps on the course. Stretched.

Race #2 of 5. Several Laps on a go-kart track. Smooth, level surface, with various turns. Fun-fast course. Small venue with less than a dozen riders.
Took Gold Medal for age group.
What would you do differently?:

Ease up a little...still had 2 more bike races in the week.
