Swim
Comments: started wide with a sculling start (we were in water up to our chest) and was able to safely work around a number of people. Finally got to the inside line about 150 meters in. needed to stop for a couple of strokes to avoid two drafters that were too far away from the swim line. The last 600 meters were really good. What would you do differently?: start on the inside line instead of further out Transition 1
Comments: I have not practiced with my shoes on the bike. What would you do differently?: Take time to wipe off feet of grass and dirt. Bike
Comments: The course is wonderfully flat, so I was able to keep my cadence strong and really get a strong mph. Passed quite a few people. What would you do differently?: I was a little nervous on the turns and messed up the first loop. Transition 2
Comments: I can't ride on top of my shoes yet, nor jump off a moving bike. What would you do differently?: I screwed up re-racking my bike - was I supposed to or not? Run
Comments: lots of walk breaks the first mile. Didn't feel strong at all until mile 3. But there is no way that course was 3.1 miles - I just didn't feel I was running that fast. What would you do differently?: My Garmin was set to biking so it was useless to me. I would start a little slower so that I wouldn't need so many walk breaks. Post race

Got about 5 hours of sleep, with a wide-awake 1.5 hours from 1:45 to 3:15a. Ate two pieces of toast with butter and peanut butter, plus a Sugar Free Red Bull. Got to the transition area to set up about two hours before my wave was due to start.
For a 8:53a start, was in the water at 8:15a, started swimming at about 8:30a.
