Run
Comments: I knew I'd suck this race as I haven't ran in weeks - and I haven't run outside at all since last year, all my 'training' has been on the tready. So I knew this would be tough. I set a goal for myself - run 3 minutes walk 2 minutes, for the duration of the course. No matter how much it hurt, no matter how much I wanted to slow down and walk - I stuck to that goal. I am proud of myself for that. Mental toughness kicked in - my legs wanted to quit so bad but I pushed through it. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow, though. I stopped at the 2K mark to go potty, and stopped at about 4.5K to throw my jacket in my truck as I ran(wogged) by it. I had hoped to finish in 40 min, but I'm happy with 44. Can only get faster, right?! What would you do differently?: Ummm ... train? Yup - train. Post race
Warm down: Stretched out good. Had some water, a banana and a Bounty bar. Hung out with a few CPS peeps I know while we watched the 10K'ers cross the finish line. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. My lower body screaming at me by the 3K marker. Event comments: Next year I'll smoke it. :) Last updated: 2011-06-19 12:00 AM

Usual. Had a good sleep, woke early enough to not feel rushed, had some toast w/ PB and tea w/ honey for breakfast.
Light stretching. Hopping back and forth and up and down while all the dignitaries rolled through their speeches.
