St. Joseph's Island Triathlon - August 13th

I was contemplating making the trek to Sault Ste. Marie for this triathlon....

Anyone participated in this event before? What's it like from an athlete's or even administrators perspective? Road conditions? Turnout of athletes? Water temp (assuming cold as heck in Lake Huron.)

Would appreciate any input.
