yes, this again! i need some new tunes. my brother just burned me a cd of mp3s - black eyed peas, richard cheese (had never heard of him), and some other stuff. am copying it into itunes as i type and will make a new play list for the rio once the girls are asleep. any other suggestions? i'm allocating $20 for new tunes from the itunes store, so fire away! current running favorites are the black eyed peas (which i should now have plenty of), guru, jamiroquai, karsh kale, india arie, etc. i like 'extreme ways' by moby, but that's all i've heard, so i would be open to any other recommendations on specific moby songs. same goes for maroon 5 and the killers.

I've been in a Neville Brothers mood lately.  And Dr. John.

I will check out Richard Cheese.  I've never heard of him... but I'm always interested in learning about new music.

LOL!! Richard Cheese is great! His albums aren't good for working out, more of a hanging around the house music playing in the background kinda stuff. They are excellent! I have all of them on my iPod.

you are so right! i was just listening to his version of outkast's 'hey ya' (one of my favorite running songs) and almost peed my pants! VERY funny. not good for working out, but i might stick in a song or two for long runs where i need a good laugh to keep a smile on my face.

richard cheese = lounge covers of songa like 'baby's got back' 'brass monkey' 'me so horny' etc.

god, listening to brass monkey right now and i think i really did pee. hee hee hee. oh man!

I just downloaded Mos Def, "Katrina Klap".

http://www.streetknowledge.net/archives/10

pretty good, very angry, very topical.

I'm fond of the follwing Moby songs:

Jam for the Ladies
Voodoo Child
Make Love F War (with Public Enemy)
South Side (with Gwen Stefani)
Bodyrock
Natural Blues
Run On (be warned: this is seriously addictive and will get stuck in your head)
Find My Baby

and . . . my all time favorite . . . the most addictive moby song ever:

Honey

DJ Rap - C'mon and Run to Me
Mark Lanegan - Hit the City
Grand Theft Audio - As Good As it Gets
Foo Fighters - Times Like These
Andrew WK - Don't Stop Living in the Red
Rancid - Otherside
Rise Against - Give it All
1000 Homo DJs - Supernaut

Currently at the top of my 'tri mix'.  Kinda eclectic, but it works for me.

I listen to 'em before my races.  Helps set the right mood for me to tear it up with a nice controlled burn.

1000 Homo DJs - Supernaut

Awwwwww yeaaaaaah.

Do you have the NIN cover of Queen, Stone Cold Crazy? It's from the same Trent Reznor creative era as the Supernaut song, and it's just crazy rocking.

I guess now would be a good time to put in my regular plug for Party Ben's mashups.

http://partyben.com/downloads/

The Led Snoopelin mashup, Drop It Like It's A Whole Lotta Love, makes me run like a mad man.

My favorite Richard Cheese cover has to be Closer by Nine Inch Nails. Hearing him sing "I Want To F__k You Like An Animal" in that in cheesy lounge style makes me piss my pants every time.

I've been listening to a lot of tracks from a friend who is a DJ - mostly deep house stuff. The relentlessly steady beat for some reason helps push me along in a hard workout.

Eve 6 (especially How Much Longer and Open Road Song).  Also, just put on the Pure Funk CD. I kinda forgot about Jamaraqui...gonna have to check them out again. And I want to check out Natasha Bedingfield...I like the release I've heard from her called These Words.

Oh, and if I could get my hands on some Black Eyed Peas, I'd be all over it on my MP3...great for running.

i am stuck in the 80 rock vien so I have good rockin tunes to run to:

motley crue Hooligans Holiday- best drumming ever

Bon Jov- Born to be my baby- 148 beats per min

Skid Row Monkey Business.

Can never go wrong with some good old 80's rock to keep you running strong

I also just put on Best of you by Foo Fighters it is a great pump you up song.

I have 300 songs mostly hard rock and disco but I do have some jazz, and some barry white on there.

MR BRIGHTSIDE
SOMEBODY TOLD ME
I also like
MIDNIGHT SHOW
ON TOP
man . . . every track is good . . .

if you like those check out "This Fire" or "Take Me Out" by FRANZ FERDINAND . . .

If I had an Mp3, you are all so techno savvy, I would have chemical brothers, basement jaxx, sasha and digweed, Jeff Buckley just for starters then Sound garden, Audio Slave, Stone temple Pilots, (Chris Cornell rocks)
