i've been making an effort to watch more sports related films lately. mainly running and cycling, but today i actually watched a film based on the life of an australian swimmer! anyway, here are some good ones:

+ chariots of fire (classic!)
+ swimming upstream (interesting true story of an australian swimmer)
+ on the edge (awesome trail running movie, some cheesy dialogue, but an inspiring story)
+ triplets of belleville (i loved this so much we bought it!)
+ without limits (good prefontaine flick)
+ breaking away (old school bike flick)
+ extreme bloopers: sports gone wrong (some bike stuff, funny in a shot to the crotch kind of way)
+ white knuckle presents: no recess - welcome to the east (amazing stuff on bikes)

in my queue:

+ go further (watching this tonight)
+ 2 seconds
+ tread and re-tread
+ riding giants
+ bicycle thief
+ prefontaine
+ american flyers

Splerph it was was Tony Fingleton. His sister Di Fingleton was Qlds chief magistrate until she wen to jail, she's out now. It has Geoffrey Rush and one of those young kids from neighbours in it. Set in the 60's in Brisbane.

God I'm a wealth of information. I should be on Millionaire!!!

Another good running movie, though really hard to find is The Jericho Mile. Also try Prefontaine... Both good running movies, but I think they are both out of print. Jericho Mile was supposed to be re-released last year, but I could never find it. I saw these as Sunday afternoon movies on television growing up when we just had the 3 networks.. Remember that???
