Comments:

This was supposed to be a 3K swim, but judging from my time and my teammates' times, it has to be approximately 2.6 or 2.7K.

Swam my ass off. Still need more swim training. Managed to hold a very good pace in the last 1K or so.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. This race just "popped up" at the last minute and I had swum only 3 times in the previous five weeks.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Consistent swim training, which will resume once I start training for my IM in May and once the adventure race I'm currently training for is over.

Event comments:

Organization was terrible. The course was not properly measured, started late and had only two small fishing boats as the "rescue team". All this was to be expected since it was a government-sponsored event. I'm not too thrilled about an MC/commentator wearing a Che Guevara shirt!

Hmmm. The "Panga Special Coast Guard" eh? Nice swim Felix!! So was it really a swim across the whole gulf? Now I need to look it up on a map.
