Bone bruises are majorly frickin' painful. That is, it would be painful enough for you to be thinking "It's broken and I really need to see a doctor." If you're talking discomfort at this point, but you can still cycle on it, it's probably not a bone bruise. Especially in a major bone. I'd keep doing what you're doing; try little runs, maybe at decreased intensity than normal; if it's just discomfort or achy and doesn't get worse, then keep doing the little runs and increase every few days until you're back to normal.
This.
I had a bone bruise in my wrist once, and it was so painful there was no way to rationalize my way out of going to the doctor, because I really thought it was broken.
So. If you aren't at that point, and already healing, just keep doing what you're doing. Easy recovery, ice and ibuprofin. Do what feels good, don't push too hard, etc.
It is always a bummer having to start at what feels like the beginning, but before you know it you'll be feeling better. |
