Subject: RE: 105 vs ultegra I'll offer up my two cents as a mechanic, and experienced rider...a cassette is a casette, and a 105 rear derailleur will work almost as well as Ultegra. Even the cranks are close. BUT...an Ultegra front derailleur is a HUGE improvement over 105. It's just more reliable once it is set up, and more precise. Rarely will you end up dropping a chain with Ultegra. DO NOT skimp on the front derailleurs!!! Ever. Is a shifting problem worth the relatively small cost of the upgrade? |
