To make it, or not?
OptionResults
Make it
leave it
depends on if i got any the night before
Make it about 50% of the time because I'm the woman and I get to decide.
just pull sheet and comforter up in a half-ass way
find a hooker
Screwed if you do screwed if you don't
takes more time to argue than to make bed

Subject: To make it, or not?
So this morning at 6:30 am, my wife and I have this conversation:

Wifey: Honey, grab the sheet and tuck it in.
Me: Why?
Wifey: I want to make the bed.
Me: Why? It's already 6:30, have to shower, you have to eat, and we need to get the kids up for school.
Wifey: Just GRAB THE SHEET.
Me: No, this is stupid, we have to get going. It's only gonna get messed again in about 15 hours.
Wifey: Grab the sheet, tuck it in, or you'll be cut off.
Me: OK

So, do you make your bed every morning? I never did untill I got married, and now I only do it when I get bribed.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no - depends on my mood and the current state of the house. I try to keep the house neat because a messy house equates to a messy life, and I like my life to be un-messy at least half the time or I get depressed. HOWEVER - since I am the only one who cares, I make the bed myself.

Thats kinda harsh. I save the "youre cut off's" for more important stuff like the dishes. heh.

I just don't really care about making the bed, I just throw the covers up.

Grab the frickin' sheet! Get with the program!

My mother raised me to make my bed every morning before going to school. She had 5 daughters and as each of us started kindergarten, we were taught to make our beds.

Well, since we are trying to sell our house, I make the bed every day.   Yes, I make the bed.......mostly because my husband is up at 5:15 and at work by 6:00 and I am the only one home to make it when I get out of bed at 6:15.  However, I know if the roles were reversed, it wouldn't get made.  Just not a high priority for hubby.  We have this understanding w/each other - we each have our own priorities and forcing those on the other is not always the best course of action.  So we help each other out when we can, but are not critical of the other when it doesn't happen.

You know, I'd prefer a made bed, but then, I'd prefer clean sheets every night, so I've learned to live with disappointment. Just buy a bulky comforter and pull it up. (Incidentally, this is what my mom did when we were kids. The rule was: since the bed at least LOOKS made if you pull up the comforter in a half ass way, then we have no excuse for not doing it. She had an excellent point. It was a great compromise)

Ooh, I got some good ones too, but when it comes to making the bed, its all me or it doesn't get done. Putting clean sheets on the bed, however, requires team effort.

(Tania, long time no see!)

Tomorrow, I am going to pull them up in a half-assed way. I wonder if wifey will see the humor in that?

Hang on a sec'...

You can regularly put in the rigorous training demanded of this sport... but you can't pull the sheets up? Too strenuous? Too much exertion required?

You're not a boy, you're a Man. Give your wife a hand with the sheets and do it happily.

I see your point, BUT, I push myself to exhaustion while tri training because 1. I want to, and 2. it makes me feel good. Neither of those two things apply to making the bed.

However, they do probably apply to having sex with your wife.

Isn't a wife who threatens "you'll be cut off" prostituting herself? "You can't have me unless you pay the price."

Just wondering.

I straighten the sheets when I get out of bed, but I don't make the bed. My DH and I both hate a bed that is freshly made. When I stay at hotels I tell room service not to come cause I hate it when the sheets are tucked in all tight.

Of course when the house was on the market the bed got made every morning and all the extra pillows got placed on the bed.

How about doing it because 1) your wife wants you to and 2) it makes her feel good when you pitch in. It's really such a tiny, tiny thing to do and it sounds like she'd appreciate your uncomplaining compliance.

I warned him!  Oooh, football, me too me too! I'd skip making the bed altogether if football was on in the morning.

Since my hubby's out the door before I get up, I get to make the bed. And sometimes it gets done and sometimes it doesn't. Like today. It didn't.
We agreed when we first got married not to threaten each other about being cut off. Not a nice thing.
