Subject: Is my moral compass broken?

I recently misplaced my wedding ring and it really bummed me out. I searched the trash, house, car, work, etc… all the typical places, the wife wasn’t upset so all is well.

I say that to say this….

I’ve got this favorite pair of running shorts that somehow vanished from my dresser drawer and it makes me sick to think that I’ve lost them… More so than the ring…

Do I have issues?

The ferfect pair of running shorts can take years to find. A ring is jewelery...buy another or have one made. No big deal. I'd be just as upset.

Now...I threw up and was very upset when I lost my engagement ring...just b/c it wasn't insured yet. However, I think I'd be more upset now if something happened to my bike.

Yes, after 3 days it was in the washing machine. It was still too big at that point and had fallen off when my hands got wet doing the wash. This is why I don't do laundry. Or, this is why I'm not married...humm...

Got me thinking...ok, not going to hijack...starting new thread.

Lara... in my case you might be on to something ha ha.... my issue is with myself not looking for that ring as much as I should but almost nonstop for a pair frick'en shorts...

Lara - 2005-10-27 2:46 PM

my husband lost his for a couple of months a few years ago..  he hid the fact that he lost it at first hoping i wouldn't notice..  we later found it behind his dresser..  a few months after we found it he broke it and we had to have it re-soldered..  i forgot my wedding and engagement rings at a hotel earlier this year (i was traveling alone on a business trip)..  the cleaning staff turned them in and i was able to get them back..  our diviorce will be final in the spring..  so it might not be a good sign that it's lost..

I thought you might of meant that.... yes I've checked the wash... My wife lost her ring and every night the dog poo'ed I used a stick to check things out... at first I was disgusted out but after awhile it didn't faze me... (She found the ring after a week of me following the hound around... I think she lost it on purpose)

"harsh and uncalled for, not in this forum"...

Alas.....it is I whose moral compass might be broken for joking. Woe is me.

Actually, no. I'm just bored and can't believe I found myself in this forum again.
