Subject: RE: Javelin peeps...Zero wheelsets The Zero Team closout discount brings the disc to ~$725 I believe. I wouldn't compare it to the Hed...The Zero is a full carbon tubular, the Hed is a aluminum rim clincher. The Hed "Super Light" weighs in at 1270g for the 700c model. The Zero weighs 975g. For reference, the Zipp 900 tubular disc weighs 965g. The Zero is very much coparable to the Zipp and the Hed, IMHO, is a lesser product compared to either Zipp or Zero. For $725 the Zero is a killer deal! I'm extremely tempted to jump on one even though I just bought a set of American Classic 58mm tubulars and probably shouldn't drop another $700 on a disc...but at that price I find it hard not to take advantage. Edit: Main differences are the weight obviously, and the bearings in Zipp wheels are generally considered to be the best on the market. The American Classic wheels I just bought actually use the Zipp 404 rims with an AC hub but go for $400 less than the Zipps...it's all in the bearings. Edited by TH3_FRB 2005-11-12 9:21 PM
