Subject: How dare the car dealership! Triathlete's baby hurt!

Mini update: Background: ever since I've gotten my car the rear wiper won't turn off. It runs all the time...sunny, 70 degrees, the wiper is running. People yell at me all the time "your wiper is on!"...This is at least the 4th time (maybe 5th I lose count) I've taken it in to fix since Nov.

I pick up my car. Windshield wiper is fixed! It stays off and turns on only when I want it to! "Thanks Mr..." "Well, there is one problem. You see, you didn't leave me your keys to the bike rack....well, they had to go into the electrical system and couldn't get where they needed to without taking it off."....I say "No, I didn't leave the key because you didn't give it back to me when I brought it in last time and I called the service dept and told them." "Oh...I didn't know that.  Well, the tech couldn't find them so....(pause)....they had to break the rack and bust the locks to take it off..."

*GASP! THE HORROR!*

Breaking my beloved (ahem very expensive) bike rack! How dare they!!

Anyway, I'm not really upset, they're going to fix it and give me a new part to the rack and new locks and such. She'll be good as new. I just am aggravated I have to keep driving up there. Thought you guys might like that.

messing with a bike rack, that just cruel. I still have all of my Yakima on my old car. It's probably worth more than the car come to think of it (okay not really. In fact not even close. I'm not even sure why I said that to begin with)

No, they can mess with it. It has a rear folding arm thingy...pretty cool. And you can take the whole thing off completely...you just need the KEY to do it...

Why did you post again?

So that's just dumb. How hard would have been for them to call you and tell you they need the key? Instead they just bust it and now have to spend a bunch of money to fix it? Dumb dumb dumb.

I coulda fixed those wipers in less than 2 minutes. They just weren't using a big enough hammer!

Yes, they could have called me and I would have said "Sure I would bring you the keys, if I had them. You guys do." I'm sure they lost them last week anyway.
