Hey everyone
I've done one triathlon three years ago and then went through a real "lazy phase". I just started working out again this year and doing my next mini-triathlon this weekend here in Munich/Germany. As I haven't tri-ed in a long time I am getting soooo nervous!!!
I'm really looking forward to the discussions with you guys in the forum.
See ya
NikNak

Hi Nicole,

Good luck in your training. I was stationed in Kaiserslautern for a while and have been to Bertchesgarten but not Munich. I hear it is pretty nice. This site has plenty of people who are willing to help and answer any questions. We are also good at motivating each other.

Thanks Kevin.
I also think that one great benefit from this forum is that we all motivate each other pretty much.
And yes, Munich is beautiful. Especially now when the weather is getting better and it's beer-garden time (not so good for training though ).......
It's also a good place for working out with lots of parks and mostly flat everywhere.

Make sure you come back here and give us all the details afterward. I for one want to hear about everything....I'm talking about the beer gardens of course. One of best times I've ever had drinking was in Munich, well....what I can remember of it

Hallo,
Viel gluck beim trainieren, und viel spass im Biergarten.
Are the english gardens any good for training? I saw lots of people, but don't remeber any runners there.

I am hoping to take a week or two to bike through Germany soon. I was planning on spending most of my time in Badenwurtenburg, but I also love Bayern. Hope to hear more from you.

Machs gut,

Charles

Thanks you gyus for all the wishes and warm welcome in this forum!!!
Of course I will let you know how the mini-tri went. And maybe I'll report on the beer gardens soon too ;-)
I'm just getting more and more nervous. Do you also have this pranoid phase before a tri, when you think about the things that could go wrong?
Loosing the googles, getting flat tires, slipping and falling, loosing your way/miscounting the rounds/laps on the track................... Did I forget anything? Every day a new horror scenario enters my mind. But then I think: Isn't this why I prefer the excitement of triathlon over other sports?!
Take care and talk to you soon

Did someone say pilsner? Oh that is the best. Loved Germany--visited five years ago and would like to return. And no, not for the BEER, even though it is the BEST.

Welcome Nicole. Good luck on your first re-tri.

Hi guys!
I posted a race report in "who's racing" for all of you that would like to know how it went.
And yes, I had a refreshing "Augustiner Bier" (Munich's best beer actually) afterwards as a reward ;-) I know it's not very sporty to do that, but hey, we're in Bavaria here ;-)
Thanks again for all your postings that really gave me confidence when I was soooooo nervous.
