Subject: Excel Question
Okay I need some help from all you Microsoft Excel Pros. I’m working on a large project and I am doing formulas. I was to make a formula and have a cell stay fixed, so when I copy the ratio it will maintain one of the variables (a set cell) how do I make excel do that. (I know it can be done, just not sure if it’s a # or a !! or something)

$ sign in front of the variable you want fixed put a dollar sign. If its just the column then $A, if you want both column and row its $A$1.

If you fit [F4] while editing the cell it will cycle through the $ options. If you have multiple cell references just highlight the one you want lock. Alternatively you could name the cell that you want to lock....

In the cell, hit "=" then go to the sheet and then highlight the cell you want to reference.
