Pre-race routine:

Nothing much.
Event warmup:

Did some light stretching.
Run
  • 27m 36s
  • 4 miles
  • 06m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Went out too quickly for the first mile and I had to recover during the 2nd and third which gave me an uneven pace. I could of went alot harder if I did not go out as harder.
What would you do differently?:

Start out alittle slow and not do a 5:55 first mile.
Post race
Warm down:

Light stretching and running with some friends.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not training for shorter races like this one.

Event comments:

Very competitive first race of the season. I thought that I did fairly well with putting on 15 lbs in the off season. I was glad to see a good turnout of such a nice day
