Good luck Tom! I will see you there. PM me if you would like to meet up some time before the race. This will be my third race, first wetsuit race, first race on a tri bike!

Yeah definitely. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Town Lake. Checking in Saturday. I'll be sporting the Team Javelin Gear on race day as well.

My best friend (see avatar) and I will be doing this race (sprint) together. The first tri for both of us. We went there this weekend to bike and run the course, but of course it was raining and just generally yucky weather. We biked a bit but it wasn't safe so we went back, and then we couldn't figure out where the running trail was. But I'm not looking forward to the swim, that water is cold! I don't have a wetsuit either. The bike trail seemed pretty hilly. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Did everybody get their email about water temp? It's freaking me out for some reason. I don't have a wetsuit and honestly don't want to deal with one, but I'm afraid of that water! I think I'll be able to handle it on a warm day, but on a cold one no way! This will be my first open water swim (and tri for that matter) so I'm a bit worried about it all.

Also I can't believe there are 700+ people signed up. I don't think they had nearly so many last year. Didn't seem to me that the park or area around it had much room for parking, so I wonder what they are going to do about that?

I'll be there for the Oly distance! I would encourage a wetsuit purchase between now and then. Promotion has great customer service, great prices, and BT members get a 15% discount on top of that. You have to place your order by phone to get the discount.

Umm yeah, actually BUYING a wetsuit is in no way an option for me. I am a poor college student. I was thinking of renting one, but I'm really lazy and I don't know if I want to deal with that hassle. I think I might just decide to freeze my butt off. Luckily I have alot of subcutaneous tissue to keep me warm!

Ok, broke down and rented a wetsuit. Hopefully it will be here in time. New to the whole wetsuit thing, so I guess it is one more issue to sort out before the tri.

Got to bike the course this past Sunday. Pretty hilly, not impossible, but challenging for a newbie like me. Hog Eye road is the real killer part, and the part on 973 (I think this is the road's name) is also tough. We had alot of head wind on those areas, but I don't think that is typical. It just happened to be a very windy day. Found part of the jogging trail, but a couple having sex in the woods made us turn back around!

Looking forward to it all. And oh yeah, I can wear my tri suit under the wetsuit right?

Yeah, I'm going to wear mine under my wetsuit too. Thanks for the info on the bike course!

I highly recommend it.  Wearing your tri suit over your wetsuit could make T1 the most hilarious part of your (and everyone else's day.

Ok, Ok, I knew that was a stupid question, but I wasn't sure if people just wore bathing suits under the wetsuit. Newbie here!

Now I'm not excited about the running part at all (as if I was in the first place). You all will know who I am because I will be the one coming in last during the run, especially if there is a hill at the end (or if you see a girl crying on the bike trail because she got a flat tire and doesn't know how to change her tube, that will be me too!). Geez, of course I had to pick the tri with a hard run.

I got the email but wasn't able to download whatever file was mentioned only a .gif with the event logo. Anybody else have that problem?

See you all there. I will be one of the few without wetsuit or trisuit. Hell I'm not sure if I will even wear anything.

Oh yeah, the run is the toughest part IMHO. Big hill at the end of each loop. You are warned.

Oh yes, I had that problem with the e-mail too. You're not wearing a wetsuit? Ahh geez, I knew I should have toughed it out. I had to fall for the wetsuit peer pressure!
