Comments:

I drank a bit too much before the race, so I wanted to find a bathroom around 1st mile mark, but I knew where one was at the finish line. Around the mid point my left heel started giving me problems. I walked a few times to relieve the pain, steadily limping with half a mile to go. That didn't stop me from running at full speed for the last quarter mile. Still had a PB!!!
What would you do differently?:

Use the bathroom more before the race. Work more on my heel and stretch it more.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, grabbed water and fruits. Found my wife and son by the finish line. James loves his daddy especially when I all sweaty. Watch and cheered more racers as they came in.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Small bladder and Plantar Faciitis

Event comments:

There was a lot of inspiration there with many people either running for transplant recipients or recipients themselves running. I got lot of cheering as I crossed the finish line, I was all alone. Big difference from finishing in a crowd of 40 at Gasparilla. Very Emotional Morning.

WOOHOO!!! New PB for me. About 4m 30s faster for my 5K. Next one I plan to finish without walking at all. Now to recover from the dreaded Plantar Faciitis. I think I'll bike hard for a few days, to keep up stamina and keep pressure off of heel.

Its been a great day.

Thank You Sue, I plan doing one more 5K then I'm moving on to Tris. It's still amazing that everyone I meet in the sport are such positive people. I've never seen so many nice people at one time.

Thanks Again,
Adam
