Subject: i can't believe i'm doing this!i decided a few days ago, after encouragement from some friends and a thumbs up from my personal trainer that i was going to participate in the danskin triathlon in seattle. unfortunately, my decision was made about 2 hours after registration was closed for the event. i've now found two other events, one in july and one in september and i'm going to begin training in ernest tomorrow. i've printed the 22 week training plan and i'm hoping that i'll be ready for the july event (which is only 17 weeks away ), but if not, i know i'll be ready for september!
a little bit about me. i'm a 38 year old woman and i've been morbidly obese for most of my life. i decided to finally make changes to become healthier three years ago and i've lost over 100lbs so far. i still would like to lose another 30lbs or so, but i needed to find a new goal that wasn't scale related for myself. so, doing a triathlon seemed like a great way to get some of this remaining weight off while focusing on being active instead of the scale.
i guess that's it for now. i'm going to go see what other helpful hints i can find on this site! |
