Run
Comments: I tried to stay with the fast guys... big mistake as I went anarobic in the first 1/2 mile. What would you do differently?: Stay arobic and make my own pace. It was good for me as it made my tally for the year in miles a total of 4 miles run..... I need to put running into my schedule as I think if I could do better there I would have a good chance of staying with all the fast guys. Transition 1
Comments: Transition was slow almost 2 minutes ( I could hear him call of the time and I realized on the bike what it was and how much time I lost). Shoes were good but hard to get the tension buckle done (SIDI's). Got up to speed early though which was good What would you do differently?: Prepare and practice the transition as I lost too much time there. But for my first time it was a good effort I think Bike
Comments: Went out hard (24-26mph) as I had rabbits to chase, but that put me into a deficit as I didn't drink in the transition area, so by the end of the ride I lost a little speed as my average indicates. What would you do differently?: Fix the transition issues, Figure out how to take a drink at that time and make sure I don't lose focus even though I don't have people to chase. Transition 2
Comments: Forgot to get out of shoes on bike, made for a slow transition. What would you do differently?: Just the prep on the bike as I managed to get in a drink, but realized that I was thirsty... bad thing as by then it's too late and things were going down hill. Run
Comments: I was toast, as the fellow that was 1/2 mile behind on the bike ended up passing me on the run... ARG and an age grouper to boot! What would you do differently?: Need to drink in the 1st transition and some how on the bike so that I'm not in depravation by the 2nd run. My legs felt like stone weights and my turnover was horribly slow. As I tried to stay with the fellow that passed me, I just couldn't up the turnover to do so. Finnished 8 sec, behind him. Post race
Warm down: fluids fluids, I realy noticed I was very thirsty. Streching, rubbdown followed by roller bar when I got home. What limited your ability to perform faster: New to the sport and not familar with the transition area and the need for something like a milk crate to sit on (DOH!!). Yes and lack of any Run training. It will get better but overall it was a good learning experience and I think I can easily get under 50 min with just a few minor changes. Event comments: I don't feel it right to Rate the race as I don't have anything to compare it too. But for my first Race it was just right. Last updated: 2006-04-04 12:00 AM

Nothing for the whole week. It was just a spur of the moment decision to do it Sunday morning. =)
Carbs (Oatmeal, toast), 1 serving Protien drink mixed with Milk 2%, 1 banana, and Chocolate milk sirup (tastes like a chocolate shake Yum).
Stretches all legg muscles and lower back. Slowly road my bike over the run loop as the road was full of chuck holes and I needed to know where they were to avoid injury.
