I have a FlatWing but I’m wondering what folks are using for cages and are you going with small bottles?

Thanks for any feedback.

I've used the Seat Post Thing (SPT) for years along with Profile cages. I know a lot of people complain about the profile cages launching bottles, but I've not had that problem. The profile cages use a thin o-ring to provide tension on the bottle, but I take a thick rubberband, double it up and put it on there in addition to the o-ring. It clamps the bottle much tighter. I've never had a problem getting bottles out, or back in, but they are snug.

I have to replace the rubberbands every few weeks, especially in the summer. As a race precaution I replace them the day before the race.

The SPT keeps the bottles upright more then most behind the seat carriers, which might help as well.

Just bought the same thing from All3Sports (along with the X-nut + straps) ... and got the Profile Design cages for >$5.00 ea. I figured whatever grams saved with the carbon watever was not worth the extra $60.00

Whatever cages you get, though, the @#$%$^ screws that come with the Flatwing are too small to thread through the cage, through the holder and into the nut. (I ended up taking swapping the extra but longer waterbottle cage screws off of my road bike with the dinky screws provided.)

See if your LBS has some longer screws hanging around the work bench when you pick 'em up.
