Run
Comments: Wore long sleeve tech shirt and shorts. Running gloves and held beanie in hand during the race. REALLY tried my best to hold back at the start. Lots of people passing, but stayed true to plan. First mile well below goal pace. 2nd and third pushed it. Felt like I pushed in 2nd mile too soon. Would prefer to take mile 2 faster than first but not as fast as I did. Prefer 3rd mile to be faster than 2nd. Stayed steady from 2 through last tenth. Pushed hard in the final tenth to pass several people. One guy was 53 yrs old and I wasn't gonna let him beat me. :) Felt like I gave it my all. Great race. What would you do differently?: Try to neg split mile 2 and 3 rather than keep same pace. Post race
Warm down: Jog around for a few minutes after. Walk around after that while sipping water. Got some fruit when felt hungry. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just good ol' training is all. Event comments: This was a PR for me!! Last updated: 2011-11-16 12:00 AM

Up at 5:15. Dress, eat, drink, go.
Breakfast consisted of applesauce and 2 fried eggs.
Wore sweatsuit over my race attire, beanie, running gloves, garmin (no HRM).
Saw Patrick Smith there and we warmed up by jogging around for 15 min. Hit the porta potty one last time and had 5 minutes before gun. No time for strides.
