Subject: HRM strap- new or old opinions wanted....m

So I ordered my 910xt and it should be here Tuesday or Wednesday. I ordered the one without the hrm strap though, because I can get the premium strap less expensive than the 50 extra dollars they wanted with the monitor. In doing some research though, it seems people have trouble with the new premium soft strap. I wear mostly tech shirts for working out so I'm wondering if I'd be better off ordering the older strap.

Any opinions?

I've used the new strap for a year now and never had a single problem with it.  It picks up my heartbeat immediately, without having to moisten the sensors.

I love the new HR strap.  I was never able to wear one before as the plastic part always rubbed raw spots no matter how much glide, vaseline, etc. I used.  The new one doesn't rub at all and I forget I even have it on.  I have never had any problem with the new strap reading accurately either.

I've used the old hard plastic one for years- without any comfort issues, but on cold dry days and tech shirts- I'd get the static problem.  So, I bought the brand new one.  it's a bit more comfortable... and still sometimes has the static issue.  

My can of spray static guard seems to do the trick.  I think the new one is a bit better.

 I hadn't heard about the static problem.  I only wear tech shirts and have not experienced that problem with the new strap.

I also use the old hard plastic type and also have problems on cold days.  Sometimes it's difficult to get a reading and sometimes the reading is unreliable, goes from 160 to 110 and back again.
