Subject: RE: Runner hit by car during raceThis is awfull all around. My heart *first* and *foremost* goes out to the runner and his family.
MO Running is right down the street from my house. These runs are very low key and they do one about once a month. You can see the cones they set up throughout the course. The runs seem to be more of a runners community monthly run than some big racing event. Everyone knows the roads are not blocked, etc...
The guys at the store are great - real runners who will do anything to help you out and get folks running. I'm sure they are devistated and I hope they don't get vilified for this.
I my mind they were not grossly neglegent (based on my limited knowledge of the incedent ). It was an accident and this could have happened to any of us out on a group/fun run. Yes, it was orgainized by a business. But, as I said, they are very clear about the parameters of the runs.
Be carefull out there.
