Ottawa River Triathlon

I'm in Ottawa, and our air temperatures have been warmer than normal this spring; from what I heard, even though the beaches aren't officially "open", families were at the beach swimming this past weekend.  All that to say, the water may end up being warmer than you think it will.

How did it go? Did you end up using a wetsuit?

I should have gave an update before...

Decided last minute not to register (few weeks back) for the race due to some schedule conflict. I was actually thinking about showing up yesterday on race morning to register but was unable to change my schedule around. It would have been a good way to strat the season.

However I am register for the National Capital Tri (Aug. 4th) and the Canandian Iron (Sept. 1st). Both races will be super sprint as well.

Are you register to any local races?

I'm looking at the National Capital Tri, as well, but for the sprint.  I did it last year (on my clunky hybrid bike) and had a blast - this year I wanted to attempt to better my time.  If that one doesn't work out, I may be at the one in Sept., instead.

I'm also looking at the Carleton Place tri in mid-July, as I live right on the bike course (hard to pass up on a race that is so close to home).

Other than that, I may register for the Army run in September.

Very nicely done on your hybrid. I was also one of the 'odd' one out there too since I did it on my single speed bike.

I live in the south end near the airport.

I was thinking about doing the sprint distance as well but I haven't had much time for swim tranning. Both tri I did last year was with minimum swimming and I paid for it. I still have one month to see how it goes so I might do a last minute change but for now, I am register for the super sprint.
